LG Electronics rides on camera quality to drive smartphone sales

Presently, Electronics giant LG is riding high with LG V20, a smart phone that is setting the pace on smartphone photography.
The LG V20 uses a dual-lens camera; instead of one sensor on the back of the phone you have two. The LG V20 features wide-angle lenses on the front and back of the handset. This, combined with the two rear facing cameras enables the device to deliver 360 Degree multiple panoramic shots.
The wide-angle lens lets you take truly stunning action photos of things right in front of you. The wide angle capabilities of the front and rear cameras capture action photography with an inclusive background, meaning users get more in the frame and leave nothing out.
Commenting on the development, Moses Marji, General Marketing Managing E.A said:  “Addressing changing consumer needs as well as innovation that matches customers' tastes, have been key in driving success for this device as many customers wanted a smart phone that could easily deliver quality images and videos without tinkering with the treasured moments, and deliver on growth of their social currency”.
The front camera "with a 120-degree lens expands the selfie experience to take bigger pictures with even more friends while the rear camera with its 135-degree lens is perfect for taking pictures in front of, say, a gorgeous vista or inside a gigantic stadium,"  Mr. Marji explained .
The V20 is the first smartphone in the world to run on Google's latest Android mobile operating system called "Nougat" and adopts Google's new search app “In Apps”.
However, camera-makers are also hitting back by launching mirror-less cameras with a Wi-Fi function. These cameras have a lighter body than a digital single-lens reflex, and they allow changing of lenses.
The Wi-Fi function on these cameras makes it easy to share pictures online through social media, helping the camera makers fight their battle against the smartphones.

LG LEADING THE PACK IN PHOTOGRAPHY

The creation of photography in the past was one of the revolutionary inventions to ever take place. The capability of capturing and preserving a particular moment changed how we viewed ourselves and the surrounding world forever.
The progression of old-age photography to digital photography has brought about a positive impact on the advancement in the field of photography. Such ways are being able to capture instant moments without generating the film. But in this smartphone era, almost each and every person owning one has access to a camera. The potential in which smartphones have with cameras is limitless.
Without no doubt, ones preference in buying a phone is highly attributed in the quality of the camera it comes with. Mobile developers are coming up with innovative ways to enhance the customer experience by integrating the camera into various functions and applications. With inventions such as the selfie stick and clip-on lenses, developers will come up with inventions that we couldn’t possibly imagine of. “As a set pacer in the industry of mobile and camera innovation, we are always looking into the future to come up with the next great innovation” Mr. Moses Marji, General Marketing Manager for East Africa commented in a recent interview.
When videoconferencing was first introduced, nobody could possibly think it would translate to be used via a smart phone, but with the rapid growth of mobile technology, this has been made possible. Mobile phones have been able to build bridges between a person who live across great distances and is not only used for personal calls but also business meetings.
The LG G5 8 megapixel front camera is an example of such smartphones that can be used for videoconferencing. Issues such as lag time, faulty connections and pixelated videos are some of the errors you will definitely not find on this smartphone, setting the pace for other mobile developers.
The LG G5 release came with utmost praise of its wide-angle lens, a feature that was first of its kind in the range of smart phones. With its field view larger than the human eye, one doesn’t need to carry along their cameras to capture wide angle shots of images such as landscapes. Such innovative ideas by LG bring about consumer customer relations as ones needs are addressed.
With the growth of information technology rapidly growing, the need for sharing and receiving live footage has been on the rise. Live streaming applications such as Periscope and Snapchat have been on demand globally and have attracted big numbers from downloads. Live streaming is a combination of internet streaming services and with the appeal of live TV helping viewers to see events in real time. For this, one requires portable and unique devices that can cope with various kinds of situations.
This is why LG introduced the LG Action Cam a smart accessory which is dust and sand proof and can be used for up to 30 minutes under water. From skydiving to dirt bike racing, the capability of this high quality resolution camera is limitless. Once recorded, clips can be uploaded directly to the internet via 3G or 4G services cutting back on time using smartphones or laptops.

LG Electronics new smartphone flaunts wide-angle lens and exciting new features

LG Electronics has launched its revolutionary LG V20 smartphone. Although LG Electronics’ latest range of smartphones all have their unique design elements to appeal to their specific target markets, one common feature cuts across all of them—superior camera quality.
All of LG’s phones—from top of the range flagships to entry point phones—have emerged ahead of the competition in their product category in terms of camera quality.

This is readily evident in the LG V20, which has received critical acclaim from top tech reviewers for the tremendous efforts it has taken to revolutionize smartphone photography.

The main rear-facing sensor shoots at 16MP, with an aperture of F1.8. It is, however, now joined by an 8MP sensor with an aperture of F2.4 that is dedicated to shooting 135-degree wide-angled images through its wide-angle lens.

On the front, there is a single 5MP lens, with an impressive F1.9 aperture—a commendable upgrade from the V10's F2.2 front-facing camera. The selfie cam can snap wide-angle (120-degree) images in case you want to include a group of friends in a selfie or want to capture a wider backdrop—probably squeeze in the bold makeover of your living room.

The LG V20 has revolutionized the game and reinforced LG’s position as a trend setter. The LG V20’s unique offering is expected to strike a chord with the growing number of social media photographers and videographers who take to social platforms to tell the story of their lives using photographs and videos.

With good internet connectivity, users can use the phone’s superior camera for quality livestreaming, enabling them to engage their friends on a real-time basis. Social media is all about telling a story, and LG understands that a superior camera does half the work for a user seeking to engage their friends on social media and build social currency.

“With its more robust specs, LG V20 can provide more detail and contrast in images than the competition,” said Moses Marji, General Marketing Managing E.A. “We are setting the stage for continued innovation in this space,” he added.

Bamburi Cement partners with Mama Sarah Obama Foundation

 Mama Sarah Obama
Bamburi Cement Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mama Sarah Obama Foundation (MSOF) in regards to construction of the proposed Early Childhood Development (ECD) center in Kogelo, Siaya County.
The ECD center is the first part of an educational campus that will eventually comprise a modern primary school and secondary school geared at helping orphans and children from impoverished families attain education.

Construction of the Early Childhood Development facility has effectively kicked off and is expected to be completed in 2 years’ time.

The entire campus is expected to benefit over 1,000 orphaned and disadvantaged children in the area aged to access basic education.

Bamburi Cement is expected to use innovative green building solutions through the provision of cement stabilized earth blocks for the ECD Center, which will require an estimated 110,000 soil-cement bricks. The technology pioneered under the brand name Durabric was born in response to a need to provide a perfect solution for affordable and climate-friendly construction in the country that will have a positive impact on the environment. The area is currently prone to widespread use of burnt clay bricks that is exacting a serious environmental toll due to deforestation arising from clay bricks firing.

Durabric which is made out of eco-friendly compressed natural earth and cement mix does not require firing to produce strong durable bricks. The earth blocks is a solution geared to support local construction material use through clay for the local communities while having a positive impact on the environment such as minimizing deforestation.

The Company, which is the largest manufacturer of cement in Kenya, will also provide manual stabilized earth machines for the manufacture of the cement stabilized earth blocks.

“Durabric materializes one of Bamburi cement’s contributions to addressing the housing needs and climate challenges of our times,” stated Mr. Bruno Pescheux, “and this project provides a way to showcase this technology, which is designed by world renowned architect Francis Kerre”, he added.

Bamburi Cement is in the process of providing local villagers through MSOF with technical support and training on how to make the cement stabilized earth blocks for the ECD center. It is expected that they will transform the skills garnered into other construction activities of their own houses or other in the future. Bamburi will further extend support to the MSOF contractor on how to use the cement-soil blocks in construction.

MSOF was delighted with the support from Bamburi Cement, saying that it was instrumental in advancing its goal of providing quality education to its beneficiaries.

“The partnership forged with Bamburi Cement is a significant achievement that will not only change the course of life of many disenfranchised children but will also substantially increase the skills of many young adults who are learning a trade that they can use in the future to better their lives and that of the community as a whole.” Said Debra Akello Executive Director, of the Mama Sarah Obama Foundation.

MSOF was started by Mama Sarah Obama, who outgoing US President Barack Obama affectionately calls “Granny Sarah”. Mama Sarah has dedicated her life to the education of disadvantaged orphans.

LG G5: putting “smart” back into the smartphone

The LG G5 smartphone made a splash at the Mobile World Congress 2016, and has aroused the interest of the public imagination ever since. The LG G5 is both functional and powerful. More importantly, it has put “smart” back into smartphone allowing personalization of the device itself and not just software.

Although smartphones have traditionally found success through customizable apps and software, LG is pushing the envelope by allowing personalization of the device itself. The LG G5 flagship phone allows users to tweak the device with different hardware attachments. This is in line with the electronic giant’s philosophy of consistently pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with mobile technology.

Removing the bottom "chin" of the G5, which holds the battery, lets you swap in replacement parts such as the CAM Plus, which adds a firmer grip for steady shots. You can also add a physical shutter and zoom buttons, and an extra battery pack. This customizable concept is the fruit of three years of a broader innovative research by LG to expand the possibilities for customers.

The LG G5 has positioned itself as the top flight android phone for 2016 primarily by way of aligning itself to consumer trends. Although modern consumers want a stylish design, they are not concerned about design as much as they are about customization. They want a device that fits into their lifestyle. Delivering on this is never easy, but then again, LG is all about taking the path less travelled—as the G5 effortlessly demonstrates.

LG has also not forgotten about making the apps intuitive and anticipative of user needs. The apps are designed in a way that demonstrates LG’s attentiveness to the needs of modern users.

For instance, the G5 comes with a feature called “Smart Settings”. It allows your phone to automatically adjust settings based on your location or connected devices. For example, your favorite music app can open when you plug in headphones. WiFi can be disabled when you leave your house. There are four different things that can trigger the Smart Settings: arriving at home, leaving home, plugging in earphones, and connecting a Bluetooth device.

This proves yet again that LG has been able to put “smart” back into smartphone.

Much as LG has focused on making the smartphone smart again, it has also focused on delivering the best in terms of design elements.  It has a metallic body and advanced camera to ensure that the G5 maintains the same mass-appeal as its predecessors.

LG’S FORWARD THINKING INTO THE FUTURE

The progress of technology and its trends has significantly risen in the last decade. This has not only been brought about by simplifying our daily tasks and chores but also creating a better lifestyle with the current consumer trends which are tailor made to each and every one of us.
With the world of technology rapidly growing, consumers nowadays do not seek to have products as a means to and end but rather than tools that signify ones status symbol and social status. With this new emergence of status-driven consumers LG’s SIGNATURE collection is the perfect match up for the trendsetting consumers. The premium appliances bring advanced, intuitive technology which coalesces with the environment.
A few years down the line, one could not imagine that the world of technology and fashion could merge together as one. This was brought about by the belief that one had tie be dressed from head to toe in smart technology. Not quite so anymore. The rise of smart accessories has given birth to impressive and stylish wearable technology. The G Watch Urbane 2nd Edition gives one unprecedented customization options as well as the LG’s TONE Ultra line of Bluetooth headphones that comes with a perfect model for every user.
The production of technological products as compared to those from yesteryear has seen a decline in the quality. However, consumer groups are advocating for more durable products as they don’t want to replace their home appliances often. LG has set the pace by addressing the mass appeal by introducing the LG Centum System washing machine that comes with a two decade warranty that aligns itself with the new consumer trends.
As consumers choose tailor made products to them, the rise for energy efficient and environmentally products has been on the rise. The government itself has taken steps to ensure more of these products are made in form of regulations and tax breaks.
Such trends have given rise to a breed of new and innovative eco-friendly technological products. Such products are the LG’s Door-in-Door refrigerators that reduce cold loss while the TWIN Wash’s secondary mini washer helps in reducing water consumption. Both products are also equipped with LG’s inverter technology that assists in minimizing power consumption.
With all these advancements in the modern age by LG, we cannot go without noticing one of the top notch engineering achievements they came up with the LG OLED. This HD TV is one of kind; with its spectacular features boosting 4K resolution picture, Sleek Design and cinematic color that have seen international recognition across the globe for it.
