Upcoming artist lands deal with Betway Kenya

Washington aka Libango Landu
34-year old local upcoming artist, Washington aka Libango Landu, has inked a deal with leading sports betting company, Betway Kenya to develop a track that will be used as the brand’s signature tune.

The Nairobi based artist has in the recent past captured the airwaves with the track ‘bonbon’, done in collaboration with award winning star Amani.  His other hit songs include “Bless Me” done in collaboration with Papa Dennis and Chidinma from Nigeria, among others.

Betway’s decision to go with Washington was deliberate. “We chose local talent because we are interested in Betway growing as a local brand through homegrown development, in sports and beyond,” said Wanja Mwangi, Betway Kenya country manager. “We want youth in all fields to prosper,” she added.

The track that Washington developed for Betway was recorded in Kenya by renowned East African producer R-Kay. It is part of a broader branding campaign by Betway dubbed “Champions unite.”

The campaign seeks to showcase consumer interaction with Betway and enable Kenyans to experience the true meaning of championship.

The track, which has been adapted as the brand’s signature tune, inspires people to let out the champion within, and together, aim for greatness in unity and enjoy the experience and joy that comes with being a winner.

The song seeks to engage the Betway fans as they enjoy their favorite sports and further share the experience with their families, friends and other sport enthusiasts.

Washington had this to say: “I am grateful for the opportunity that Betway has accorded me. It provides a platform for me to take my career in music to the next level.”
