LG INNOVATION WITH A PURPOSE

Education is a constant and continuous process of learning or the acquisition of values, skills, knowledge and habits. From a young tender age, we get to experience this. Education mainly comes in two forms which are informal or informal.
Formal learning is whereby education is done by a trained teacher in a systematic way such as universities and high schools whereas informal education is where one is taught outside of a structured curriculum. This type of education is experienced more as compared to the latter as one gets to be equipped with the tools he/she will apply in ones day to day life such as morals and values we adhere to.
While economic realities have prevented countries from enjoying the same quality of education, the power of increased global connectivity has rapidly grown in the last twelve years making it possible for students from disadvantaged communities to access information and technology. This has greatly impacted the communities as the benefits of education are immense such as reducing poverty, boosting economies growth, increased healthcare etc.
When it comes to informal growth, a well-rounded education is rounded up to the quality of a school’s capability to provide resources, necessary facilities and a structured curriculum. In addition to this the teacher’s ability to assess the students’ progress plays a key role. However, what most tend to neglect the fact that the student’s surroundings also have a major impact on their learning potential.
While other products are designed to increase comfort or convenience, the educational benefits of LG products actually help users to build a better life for themselves in a learning environment.
With the introduction of the modern HVAC line of air-conditioning, LG set out to ensure that they provide the right climate for education by reducing distractions, increasing concentration spans and boosting motivation for students as well as teachers and at the same time ensuring that the architectural integrity of the building is not affected.
LG’s Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Multi V Water IV System is an example of this. This new technology was introduced as a system to minimize efficiency losses. It is engineered to minimize or use no ductwork as a saving, save on the cost of large distribution fans, multiple water pumps operation and water piping. With its energy efficient and easy to design, install, and maintain, the VRF system has the lowest life cycle cost of any system on the market currently.
Speaking at the official launch of the HVAC – VRF line, LG’s Marketing Manager Moses Marji spoke about the new line of HVAC saying, “At LG, we strive to bring out the best of every product we set out to do, and with this new generation of the VRF’s our aim was to make it user friendly from the installation process to its usage, It is very silent and has the lowest life cycle cost as compared to other air conditioners.”

LG embarks on revolutionary school learning environment with energy efficient HVAC Equipment.

A well-rounded education is typically tied to the quality of a schools available resource, facilities and curriculum, in addition to the teachers’ ability to assess the students’ progress and facilitate the learning process. However, what many forget is that a student’s surrounding also has a substantial impact on their learning potential.

Studies have shown that children academic performance declines in higher temperatures. In hotter classrooms, headaches and heat exhaustion symptoms develop. These physical symptoms can hinder academic performance. Warm classrooms also decrease interest and alertness, distracting students.

Even research performed by high school students shows that student performance fall in warmer environments!

High humidity often accompanies high temperatures. Increased humidity can make students feel sleepy. Concentration levels are also lower in humid, hot environments. With the global warming concerns this menace has become even worse for lifelong learning.

And as it turns out, schools with well controlled temperatures in their classrooms can have a positive impact on student performance as well. By installing energy efficient HVAC equipment, school administrators are enhancing student comfort, healthiness and attention span, which can ultimately give performance and education outcomes a lift.

With its understanding of an effective learning environment, LG electronics has embarked to fill the gap in the education sector with its HVAC system that aims to create the right climate for education by reducing distractions, increasing attention spans, and boosting motivation for teachers and students alike.

“Research has shown that indoor air quality can impact learning. Schools in warmer climates will need cooling systems to manage classroom temperatures. To provide opportunity for improved students’ learning abilities, it’s safe to say air conditioning in schools is needed. And that is what as LG we are keen to achieve for the betterment of quality education for our children”. Said LG East Africa, marketing manager Moses Marji.

LGs HVAC solution is able .to ensure a conducive learning environment by increasing air flow while reducing noise, distributing air more evenly, and at greater speeds throughout the classrooms, as well as providing simplified maintenance and control.

At a minimum, an optimum energy efficient HVAC system should provide adequate fresh air intake, prevent growth of mold from unwanted moisture accumulation and keep the noise level in classrooms to a minimum.

International Trademark Association releases Global Report, focuses on Africa

The International Trademark Association (INTA) has launched its Global Report, an annual report that provides updates and resources on trademark law and policy in Africa, Asia-Pacific, China, Europe, India, Latin America, the Middle East and North America.
This year, the Global Report has given special attention to Africa, where heightened innovation, industrialisation and a fast-growing creative industry have sparked interest in intellectual property rights.
“A growing number of trademark owners and professionals in Africa have raised concerns about intellectual property rights. As INTA, we are committed to boosting advocacy in the continent in order to strengthen intellectual property policy,” said Tat-Tienne Louembe, INTA Africa and Middle East Representative.
The association has made notable forays into Africa in the recent past. In June this year, INTA CEO, Etienne Sanz de Acedo, and INTA Africa and Middle East Representative, Tat-Tienne Louembe engaged with partner associations, private sector entities and government officials in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
INTA also interacted with stakeholders in Cameroon and Nigeria in July. It plans to expand its advocacy activities to other parts of the continent, in line with its commitment to bolster IP protection in Africa.
“With this new report we hope to not only affirm our commitment to Africa, but also provide relevant insights to policymakers, help brand owners in the continent to protect their work and contribute significantly to economic growth.” said Tat-Tienne Louembe, INTA Africa and Middle East Representative.
INTA has 7000+ member organisations that represents some 31,000 trademark professionals, including brand owners from major corporations as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, law firms and nonprofits. There are also government agency members as well as individual professor and student members.
